Add the application database boundary using the selected CGO-free SQLite driver and tie its lifecycle to application startup and shutdown.

Acceptance criteria:

  • The application opens SQLite through a small database package using a configured database path.
  • Startup verifies connectivity and fails with a contextual error when the database cannot be opened or reached.
  • Connection-pool limits are explicitly appropriate for SQLite and documented in code or package documentation.
  • Shutdown closes the database after HTTP serving stops, with close failures handled visibly.
  • The database participates in /readyz readiness.
  • Unit or focused tests cover open failure, successful connectivity, and close/lifecycle behavior.
  • make check passes.

Dependencies:

  • Depends on configuration issue #2.
  • Integrates with readiness issue #13.
